Oh how I love this day. I always have. I'm glad I do not work on Fridays. I think EVERYONE should have Friday's off.

I have to be up at 5:30am tomorrow. Our son has to be at the baseball field by 6:45 for a tournament. ugghh! I need to go to bed but I don't think I can really go to sleep. So what am I doing. I'm sitting here checking out Scrapfreak and doing laundry.

The weather here has been wonderful. I love the fall weather. I bet it will be chilly in the morning for the tourny.

Gotta love em. Attitude, very loud music, hanging with friends as much as you can squeeze in, eating lots of food, all kinds of sports, friends hanging out at the house, listening to them talk about girls, and my favorite part, the hug I get every night!

Today I'm back at work. Although I love the money, I can sit here and think of a million things I could be doing. Lunch with a friend, getting my nails done, working on those Christmas gifts, my dog wouldn't be lonely, laundry. I could go on and on. Today we have no after school activities planned. Yeah. We can come home and relax. I'm sure there will be homework but nothing extra to add is wonderful.

No Schedule

Well the boys have been out of school for the last two days. It was a nice 4 day weekend. Not looking forward to the schedule again. It's so nice just lounging and getting up when you want to. Chase does however have a football game tonight and Jason has practice.

It is such a beautiful day today. A bit on the windy side but that's okay. It's supposed to be down in the 50's tonight. Guess I'll be bringing a jacket and maybe a blanket to the game. I do not like to be cold.

I need to clean my scrap area. I'm making Christmas gifts and it is in such a mess. I'm giving myself a break until 2:30 then its off to clean.

Oh my gosh. This is a proud moment. Our son has been selected for the National Junior Honor Society. We are so proud of him. He isn't home from school yet and has no clue. I can't wait to share the good news with him. He will be so proud and excited.

Kenny Chesney

I'm so excited! A friend invited me to go to the Kenny Chesney, Brooks & Dunn and Leanne Rhimes concert in May. We got tickets yesterday. There will be 4 of us girls going. One of the girls is getting a driver to drive us to and from the concert. Can't beat that. Can't wait!

The England Visit

My sister and her family were here this past week from England. Oh my gosh I missed them so much. They have been gone for 7 months. It seems like forever. We had such a great time. My sister and her husband worked during the week. My nieces hung with me during the day. We did lots of shopping. They hung with their friends at night and so needed those visits with them. They left yesterday. :( The picture is of my family, my sisters family and mom and dad. Our brother and his family weren't able to travel out here. He had a knee replacement and isn't able to travel yet. We missed them.

I started a part time job 2 weeks ago. It's only 2 days a week, but it's going to be some good play money. Now I just have to figure out how to get my chores back in my schedule. On the days I work, I feel like doing nothing when I get home. Not only that, I feel like a big fat ball. Being in my 40's has done nothing for my figure. I have developed this nice roundness around my center and I just don't like it. I've walked 4 days this week and I'm pretty proud of myself getting out there again. I kinda fell off the wagon with my working out and now I'm trying to get back on it. I really want to get to my goal weight by my birthday in May. I hope I can get there. If not, I guess I might as well face it that my thinner days are over. I'm starting a challenge next Monday. Not sure what I'm going to give up. I'm thinking of all sweets and fries. I already gave up chocolate, so therefore I haven't been eating to many other sweets. I do have my one soda in the morning. I do not drink coffee so I have to have some sort of pick me up to get the cobwebs out of my head in the mornings. The boys start their spring break Friday. I can't wait. It will be so nice to be off schedule for a week. Yea!

Happy 80th Birthday!!! We had such a fun day today with lunch and a day of shopping. I think my mom looks really pretty at the age of 80. She has great skin! It was fun spending the day and weekend with my mom.

City Champs

Our son Chase is in 7th grade and the 7th grade basketball team won the City Championship. They played so good. Chase shot a 3 point buzzer basket. He is #5 right behind #21 in the picture. Tonight they celebrated in a private room with bowling and food.

I finally got my scrap/sewing area set up. All of my stuff has been boxed for about 2 years. I'm so excited. Now I can leave all of my stuff sitting out and I don't have to put it all back up. Yeah.

Boy am I ever behind on posting. We have had alot going on. Jason had to finish his Science Fair project. Check got that done. Chase had a book project in LA along with a page and a half essay. Check got that done. Now Chase just has to finish his Science Project and I'm hoping that can be done by this weekend. Jason got Honorable Mention on his Science Fair Project. 4th Place. He was also one of nine selected in the 5th grade to go have lunch with an astronaut. Not sure which one, because the paper is in his binder and he is at a friends house. So I will update you on that later. He is so excited. Today he had a valentine's party at school. One more year of that and parties for my boys will be done. :( Kinda weird to see them growing up. Today Chase's Jr. High baseketball team start their playoffs. They play tonight, tomorrow and the championship is Saturday. I'll let you know how far they go. They have lost only one game and Lake Highlands is undefeated. That's who we lost to. Hopefully it will be Lake Highlands and Westwood in the Championship. Jason start his playoffs Saturday at 4:00. So next time I post, I will update on the basketball standings. Wish them luck. I'm still cleaning out and organizing on my scrapbook stuff. Can't wait to get that done. I think it's going to take me forever. Maggie is still hanging in there. There are days when I just think she doesn't feel so well but she is still here and I'm thankful. I love that dog! Mom and Dad are both doing great. :) That's always a plus. My sister, Alan and the girl are off in Spain due home on Saturday. My brother just had a knee replacement and is at home recouping. Please keep him in your prayers. They are both exhausted. Well, I'm off to feed Chase and get him ready for the big game.

Today my son is home sick. He was at basketball practice last night and they called me to come get him. She said he had fever and felt like he was going to be sick. Got him home, no fever, had him shower and put him to bed. He woke up this morning still feeling sick at his stomach so I kept him home. So I will be getting caught up on laundry! I have been so busy that I haven't posted any pictures lately so I'm posting some today. We went to the Dallas Boat Show this past weekend and had a great day. Here are a few pictures from that.

We have a new toy! The boys both have science projects due in February. After doing some research, they both decided on doing their projects on blood pressure and video games. Apparently when you play video games your heart rate goes up, not your blood pressure. So, I had to go buy the blood pressure machine. We had so much fun taking our pressure.

Oreo

This is my son Chase's cat, Oreo. He is the best cat. He is so fat and cool. He decided he was going to chase a bird up a tree. Then he thought, hmmm how am I going to get down. Oreo loves the outdoors. When we got him as a kitten, we lived in the country. We moved to the city this summer and mad him a house cat. He acts like a dog. He goes out for a little bit of fresh air then waits at the door to come back in.

I love to read. The only time I get to is when I go to bed. Unfortunately when I turned 40 my eyesight started playing games with me so I have to wear my glasses at times. I try to hold out but the glasses win alot of times.

Organization

My word for 2008 is "Organization". I was not born with the gift of organization. It is something I have to work at very hard. I believe if you have organization in your life and in your home there is some kind of peace. I have been working on a new thing since January 1. I get up and get myself ready for the day, get the boys to school and come straight back home. I immediately make sure all beds are made, rooms are picked up, laundry started, empty dishwasher, figure out dinner. I try to be done with this by 9:30 am. Then I run whatever errands I need to run and I have the rest of the afternoon. So far it is working good. I feel more at ease and happier that my house is clean. In the evenings, I get lunches made for the next day so that is one less stress I don't have to deal with in the mornings. I make sure my dishes are all in the dishwasher, sink clean and start the dishwasher! Now my next step is to get back to the gym. When the Christmas vacation started, I just couldn't find the time to get there with all the craziness of the holidays. I have one room left to unpack and that is our office/craft room. I have been shredding and cleaning out. It feels so good. We just moved my mom in July out of the home I grew up in. I couldn't believe the amount of stuff my mom had consumed in 48 years. Some things were cool she kept but there was a ton of junk. After going through that, I decided I was going to not have junk in my home that my kids would sometime have to trash. I will not ever put anything in our attic. If it needs to go in the attic, we don't need it. I reorganized my Christmas stuff so it fits in the garage on shelves. So much more to do. So wish me luck that by the end of 2008, I have my entire house all organized!

2008 A New Year! New resolutions, new everything! I joined a site called scrapfreak this past year. The ladies on this site have really inspired me to focus on several things. I want to learn more about photography and scrap more. With that, I have to get my area all set up. Lots of work to do. There are so many new things out there from when I first starting scrapping. I'm so excited to get my stuff organized and get to work.
